Miss Universe pageant is one of the most prestigious beauty pageants in the world. It is an international beauty pageant that is held only once every year. Miss Universe is the competition of the most beautiful, most talented and the most brilliant young women from almost all of the country all over the world. This year, there are about 84 beautiful, talented and smart ladies from 84 countries and territories who will compete for the most coveted title “Miss Universe 2009”.

The Miss Universe 2009 is the 58th Miss Universe pageant. The pageant will be held be the Atlantis Paradise Island, in Nassau, Bahamas on August 23, 2009. The Miss Universe 2009 will be broadcast live on NBC and Telemundo. Miss Universe is being run by the Miss Universe Organization. The Miss Universe Organization, a New York-based partnership between NBC and Donald Trump, has run the contest since June 20, 2002. The current president is Paula Shugart.
