Yes, there will be a High School Musical 4 but there will no more Troy and Gabrielle nor Sharpay and Ryan. The High School Musical 4 will be an entirely different HSM. It will have new director, new casts and new storyline.
According to the press release made by Disney Channel, the “new” High School Musical 4 will be directed by the renowned choreographer Jeffrey Hornaday. Hornaday was the choreographer of famous movies like “Flashdance” and “Shout”. The High School Musical 4 will have a subtitle “East Meets West” as opposed to rumored subtitle “College Years”.
The High School Musical 4: East Meets West will a classic love triangle set against the cross-town school rivalry between the East High Wildcats and West High Knights. The HSM 4: East Meets West will be a cultural sensation, fueled by unprecedented digital music downloads and underscored the strength of Disney Channel and Radio Disney’s connection to kids, tweens and families.
The High School Musical “trilogy” becomes a worldwide sensation. It has reached more than 290 million viewers in over 20 languages across 100 countries, including India, China and Russia. The sequel, “High School Musical 2,” ranks as the #1 basic cable telecast of all time with 18.6 million viewers on its premiere on August 2007 and been seen by nearly 300 million Total Viewers in 24 languages around the world. The “High School Musical 2” soundtrack is triple Platinum, and its DVD release was the top-selling TV property on DVD for 2007.
There’s so much to expect for the High School Musical 4: East Meets West, I just hope that HSM fans like me would not be disappointed. Meanwhile the Jonas Brothers and Demi Lovato is polishing up the Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam which is scheduled to be released on the Spring of 2010.

Big Disney Fan but another HSM Really I think they are over doing it. and it bothers me that non of the old leads are going to be their plus a change in directors HSM has been Kenny Ortega’s baby since the start I really do hope they can pull it off but for now i have my doubts…
I wish they would change the title and show them in college!! Wouldn’t it be cool? I mean watching them in college would be cool you have to admit it!! Anyway, watching them all in different or same college(s) it would be the same as high school but in college.
